From Mürren to your mailbox — Boxoho, Issue 1
Dear Mürren friends,
the sun is shining, I'm sitting in our living room in Mürren, and I get to write the very first Boxoho newsletter. I only started this project at the end of July — and it means so much to me that some of you have already signed up for the newsletter or the Postcard Club. You'll find more about Boxoho and about me further down. But first, let me tell you about Mürren.
##A summer of change
We've never had so many visitors as this summer. Part of it is the view, part of it the good weather — but the new "steepest cable car in the world" is almost certainly drawing in many of the curious, too. For anyone who remembered Mürren as a small, quiet mountain village, this summer was proof: even the small mountain villages of Switzerland are changing.
We Mürren locals are happy to welcome visitors from all over the world. We want to share the beauty of our village, and it brings new jobs and income for families here. But the crowds have a downside too: you're no longer quite at home in the quiet Mürren you remember. You feel it at the Coop, queuing and barely making it through the aisles, or finding shelves empty. You feel it at the cable car station, when you just want to get home quickly. We Mürren locals aren't always the fastest — we love the calm of our mountain village.
